France and Senegal confirmed to co-chair GFMD as of July 2022

At the November 2021 - Friends of the Forum meeting, France and Senegal confirmed their co-chairmanship of the GFMD, starting in July 2022 until December 2023. The co-chairs are currently defining their thematic priorities but announced that climate change and human mobility will be central in their co-chairmanship.  At the meeting, States and stakeholders re-affirmed the importance of the GFMD as an informal and pioneering space for open, frank and inclusive discussions.

In the coming months, the Mayors Mechanism will work closely with the incoming co-chairs, the other GFMD mechanisms and the IOM Support Team to provide feedback on the thematic priorities and organisational elements of the co-chairmanship.
